Can I buy small quantities of heating oil?

Heating Oil is another name for Kerosene. Gas Oil and Paraffin can also be used in its stead, but only if the boiler/cooker is designed for it.

Kerosene:

96% of heating boiler and cookers have been designed to run on this fuel. It is the cheapest fuel we offer. Kerosene is also known as 28 second, RBO, heating fuel, heating oil, kero and burning oil. Despite the names its all one product.

There has been a significant increase in vaporising boiler field problems during the past couple of years and many are wondering if the kerosene quality has changed slightly due to the introduction of 1000wppm sulphur. Some people have noticed a difference and had to order a boiler additive to put back in what they have taken out. We offer such additives, please see our shop for Exocet or Topanol.

We deliver this Kerosene in Bulk, 205l Barrels or 4 x 5litre cans.

Gas Oil:

Red diesel, cherry or low tax fuel are but a few names for this fuel. Mainly used in plant or agriculture. No difference to road diesel other then a red dye and a lower tax rate. Some times still used on old industrial heaters. Due to the rule changes for the use of Gas Oil we are no longer selling it through our website.

Paraffin:

Paraffin is a premium grade Kerosene. If it will run on Kerosene it will run better on paraffin. Mainly used for green house heaters and other indoor non-vented applications. Burning Paraffin releases no harmful gases. It isn’t however totally odour free, it will give off a faint smell when the fuel is first ignited. It can be purchased in our shop, click here. Derv/White Diesel/Road Diesel:

Full duty paid, 20% Vat road fuel. Fuel for all diesel cars, vans..etc  We have this product on our forecourt pump and can deliver in bulk.

Fast kerosene:

 Fast Kerosene is a marked, odourless, class 1, domestic heating oil which meets British standard BS 2869 Class C1. This product is clean burn and totally odourless. It is better for the environment than normal Kerosene’s or Paraffin’s because it’s less hazardous to aquatic life.

Rye Oil Ltd’s Fast Kerosene has a better calorific value than other domestic heating oil’s (Kerosene’s/Paraffin’s) rated at 43.55±  0.02 MJ/KG.
