In 2003 the general public could no longer buy Traditional Creosote. Due to continued demand, Rye Oil stepped up and developed a Creosote Substitute. This was a preparation comprising of petroleum distillates and synthetically manufactured substitutes. This product has become Creocote

Creosote was removed from sale as of the 1st February 2009. However Rye Oil has introduced an alternative non-biocidal product – Creocote

Furthermore, Creocote can be applied exactly like its predecessors, and it can be used by the general public as well as trade persons. Finally, you can use Rye Oil’s White Spirit to clean any brushes used.
