Blue Antifreeze 4 X 5L litre

Description

Blue Antifreeze 20 litre MEG Anti-freeze will protect engines from frost damage right down to –40oC, whilst providing outstanding protection against rust and corrosion for all parts of the cooling system. his mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) based antifreeze meets the technical requirements of BS6580:2010 and manufacturers recommend it for year-round use. This is perfect for general all round use.

Features

  • Does not allow rust or corrosion to take place with cast iron, aluminium, copper alloys, solder and/or any other metals found in the engine cooling system and therefore prolongs the life of the block, cylinder liners, radiator, pump and heater system.
  • Therefore does not form sediment, precipitate additives or form gels.
  • No adverse effects on rubber hoses or gasket materials and will not cause leaks.
  • Last for up to two years in service, when a 50% solution is maintained.
  • Does not form harmful foam inside the system.
  • Compatible with all good quality ethylene glycol antifreezes of this type.
  • Nitrite, amine and phosphate (NAP) free.
  • This product includes borate and silicate.

Applications

Suitable for most engine cooling systems found in cars, vans, trucks, agricultural equipment and contractor’s plant.

Performance

This antifreeze exceeds the requirements of many European and International Standards including: ASTM D3306, SAE J 1034, BS 6580 (2010).

Further Information.

Monoethylene glycol (MEG) is an organic compound widely used as an antifreeze for the automotive trade and a precursor to polymers. In its pure form, it is an odourless, colourless, hygroscopic, low-viscosity liquid. It is completely miscible with water in all proportions. The diverse chemistry of ethylene glycol allows it to be used in the laboratory or in industry for a wide range of reactions.

MEG as a coolant and heat transfer agent

In geothermal heating/cooling systems, ethylene glycol is the liquid that transports heat through the use of a geothermal heat pump. The freezing point of a mixture of 60% ethylene glycol and 40% water freezes below -45 oC.
